“It’s like a political MST3K!”
Aww, look. I doodled the candidates. They look so harmless, and slightly evil?
Yes, I’m a nerd, and yes, you should read my post that corresponds with this doodle.
Woo! I posted a new doodle to my blog! Like I promised I would! Weee!
I seem to be on a childhood kick this week. But isn’t everyone always on a childhood kick?
This is my #2 all-time-favorite movie scene, ever. Second only to Judy Garland’s “Over the Rainbow” scene from The Wizard of Oz. I keep hearing “Pure Imagination” on the AT&T commercial with the monster doodles, and while it’s insanely cute (the purple three-eyed monster is just so adorable, see it here), AT&T’s actual service blows. I really wish someone over at Google had snagged it for advertising the Android OS, that would have been way more fitting.
Anyway, before I nerd out all over Tumblr, I guess my point is, those two scenes were very influential to me as a kid. They definitely got to me on some deeper level. And it’s weird to me to see “Pure Imagination” coming back into pop culture by way of riding on AT&T’s coat tails, but I’m at least glad that someone in their advertising and marketing department holds the same respect for it that I do.
It’s been awhile since I posted anything I’ve drawn, so here ya go. Drawing I made for my friend Mark. Took me roughly two days, on and off. I think I need to draw more often, yes?
So, I think I’m going to use this to post things I’ve made and maybe I might eventually start blogging about design. We’ll see. I might even cross post to my blogger account, if that’s possible. Who knows.
So, first things first. Say hello to Bear Monster. I originally made him out of foam core at my internship this past summer/fall. I liked him so much I scanned him in and touched him up a bit. I’ve got a lot of doodles and drawings to post from said internship, so it’s fitting that he’s the first one I throw up here, because he started it all.
